Then you either blend them with layers and masks manually in Photoshop, or use the Merge to HDR function, which works better some times than others (usually not at all for me).

I'm here in the US on a L1A visa and would like to apply for Green Card (I'm assuming i-485) soon. My wife who is currently outside of US has recently received her L2 visa within one business day I may add! So, we're waiting for her to join me here in the States within two months as she is currently working abroad and needs to wait for her bonus $...
In any case, I was thinking of applying for an EAD for her in conjunction of i-485, but I've been reading that others who are holding a H1 visa is also applying for an EAD (why on earth for?!) as you are allowed to work on H1 already no? I thought EAD is authorization to work only??
In my case, my wife needs EAD in order to work as L2 only allows her entry to the States and her visa would "clone" mine (ie. whatever my expiry date is, hers will expire).
Should I also apply for EAD too even though my L1a visa already permits me to work legally here in the US?
It is entirely up to you. People apply for EAD while on H1B just in case there are any complications with the H1B and/or they want to switch jobs.
If you think that your GC will be approved soon, you don't have to. But, if you have applied after Aug 1, 2007, you have already paid for a FREE EAD card with the I-485 application. All you have to do is to send in the I765 (EAD application).
This EAD (along with Advanced Parole) gives you an option to switch status to "adjustment of status" and move to another compamy under AC21 rules after 6 months of your I-485 filing (with an approved I140), if you wish. I am not sure if it is OK to use AC21 rules to move to another company using L1A (H1B is pretty straight forward).

Hi,
I am applying for AP Renewal for myself and my wife. Can someone please send me the information on the following.
1. AP is expiring on September 20th. Can I file even after the expiry of the AP?

4. Last year our attorney filed the application and I have a copy of that application. I see "Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Representative" form. There is a sudden change of plan. My company wants me in US for two months - March 15 - May 15. Then i have to go back to India till Dec 09 and come back to join work from Jan 2010. My questions -
1. Will i be facing any questions at the immigration (point of entry) when i come back on Jan 2010?
2. Any other situation or scenario that i should be aware of?
3. If i receive pay check for just two months in 09, will there be a problem when i file taxes for 2009?

I thought once your EAD gets approved then you H1 Visa is not longer valid.
You could keep EAD and H1 together active?? Any experts, could you please throw some light?

1. Do I Need an airport transit visa since iam travelling via France ?
Depends on the airline..Air India would let you board...Other airlines may not allow you to board.I have heard of cases some people getting sent back from airport.Do not know anyone firsthand..Air India told my wife that they would not deny boarding and anything happens in Paris that is her risk.She got the transit visa from french consulate just to be on the safer side...noone came to check it when plane at paris.
2. How long will it take to get my fresh passport if I applied over the counter on emergency system (Tatkaal)
Faster in US in India consulate that in India offices..At least NY is fast
3. Can I travel with an expired H4 visa ?
The only requirement for exiting the US is I-94...Usually they just take it and not even look at it....You can travel to a destination outside US...They would let you leave...No coming back without valid visa..
You can travel inside the US...Just keep the USCIS application receipt copy with you....You can show that copy as proof that you are making attempts to maintain legal status..

I just called USCIS and spoke to an Immigration Officer. He said I have to resubmit both I-131 and I-765 alongwith original EAD and AP document to the service center from where I received both my EAD and AP. I also need to submit copy of original forms or a birth certificate to prove the error from USCIS in order to waive fees.
He also said Infopass is only for enquiry and won't help in typographical errors.
I guess, whole new process would take another 3-4 months; what a mess :mad:

I am not sure about the voting schedule but the immigration bill will be debated in the Senate during the last two weeks of May.

filing ar-11 is mandatory so please do it.........
also if your new job meets all the legal requirements then getting a RFE should not be an issue just a nag........
I my experience RFE is generated in one of the following 2 cases:
1. Filing AC21( I am against filing it as long its not requested by USCIS as its not mandatory and sometimes just triggers unwanted attention to your case......
2. If your 140 is revoked by the previous employer....in this case you can bet that an RFE is going to be generated for sure if not worse like NOID etc...........In this case actually filing AC 21 might be a better option......
Above is just my experience and every case is different....this is not legal advice in any way........

but again file your AR-11 RFE or not............its mandatory.......

Thanks, Sanju. I was wondering where to ask for assurance; looks like you have found a place. I too need some help: last time my fingerprint check took almost 8 months (!) and I gave one set of them again today. Can somebody assure me that they will comeback before the dates become U again. The desperation of your post suggests that you don't need direction, you need therapy. We just need someone to give us some assurance that we will all be fine and live to see the light of the day on Tuesday even if DoS sends out a revised Visa Bulletin. what is interesting is why is EB2 stuck on Jan 2003? At least with EB3 we know that due to 245(i) it was stuck for a long time in April. I still can't figure out EB2 is stuck for such a long time in Jan 03.
